ZHANG
Chen, Outside Spiker, was born in a volleyball family. His father was the head
coach of a Chinese professional men’s volleyball club, and his younger sister
was in the starting lineup of the Chinese Women’s National Team claiming the Olympic
Champion in Rio 2016. ZHANG started play volleyball in primary school, and was first
selected into the Senior National Team in 2005 at the age of 18. Since then,
due to injuries, ZHANG was in and out of the national team for 6 times, and he
still didn’t want to give up on his Olympic Dream, that is to represent China on
the Olympic arena. ZHANG was named the Best Outside Spiker of the Chinese
National League in the last season of 2016/17.
