The 13th edition of the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship will take place in Poland – a country well-known for its passion for volleyball.
Poland’s passionate fanbase and deep love of our sport will make it the perfect host of the event. We still have very fond memories of Krakow hosting the 2014 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championship and the 2016 FIVB Volleyball World League Finals.
I am looking forward to a fantastic competition. Every year, the competition brings together some of the very best men’s volleyball clubs from around the world in a true celebration of our sport. I am sure we will be treated to exhilarating matches and remarkable displays of teamwork all played out in the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship.
After 2016, all eyes will likely be on the reigning tournament champions, Sada Cruzeiro (BRA), and last year’s silver medalists, Zenit Kazan (RUS), to see if they can repeat their success. However, with the level of competition being so high, no one can be assured of a place on the podium.
As at all FIVB events, the organisers and the FIVB have also been working on a number of exciting innovations on and off the court to ensure the very highest levels of entertainment and fan engagement during, in between, and after matches.
Add to that a legend match featuring former top volleyball stars and an end of year volleyball gala and the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship 2017 is set to be a week-long extravaganza of volleyball.
Together, we are fulfilling our vision to make volleyball the number one family sport entertainment in the world. The FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship is an important step towards achieving this vision and I wish everyone the best of luck for a fantastic competition.
