Team profile

Sarmaye Bank

Sarmaye Bank Tehran Volleyball Club was founded only in 2015, but immediately made their mark both domestically and internationally. They will be playing in the FIVB Men’s Club World Championship for the first time, as Asian club champions of 2016.
In their short history Sarmayeh Bank Tehran have won the last two editions of the National Championship in Iran
They also dominated the Asian Club Championship in their two appearances, beating Qatar’s Al-Arabi Doha 3-1 in the 2016 final in Myanmar and sweeping Japan’s Toyoda Gosei Trefuerza 3-0 in the 2017 final in Vietnam.

Mostafa Karkhaneh

The 58-year-old has managed all Iranian volleyball national teams including youth, juniors and seniors, developing many players for the National Team.
Mostafa Karkhaneh has won the Iranian League title 11 times. He also has seven titles with Iranian clubs in the Asian Clubs Championship.
In 2001 he led Iran’s Youth  National Team to the silver medal at the FIVB Boys’ U19 World Championship, followed by a bronze with the Junior National Team at the 2007 FIVB Men’s U21 World Championship.
He started the journey with Sarmayeh Bank from the club’s very beginning and within two seasons won two national League titles.
His younger son Ghasem is currently playing for Sarmayeh Bank.
