Zenit and Lube set up all-European Club Worlds final

Krakow, Poland, December 16, 2017 - European and Russian champions Zenit Kazan will be in their third consecutive final of the competition after dealing defending champions and three-time gold medallists Sada Cruzeiro a heavy defeat in the semifinals of the 2017 FIVB Men's Club World Championship, while Italy will be making a comeback after six years, following the straight-set success of Cucine Lube Civitanova over local favourites PGE Skra Belchatow in Saturday's semifinals at Krakow's Tauron Arena.

It is the first time since 2011, when Italy's Trentino Diatec beat Poland's Jastrzebski Wegiel, that the final of a Club World Championship is an all-European affair.

It was a battle between Cuban-born of the two sides, as Wilfredo Leon led Zenit in their 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-18) win and Yoandy Leal top scored for Sada Cruzeiro.

Zenit Kazan celebrate their win over Sada Cruzeiro in the first semifinal of the 2017 FIVB Club World Championship in Krakow.

A little later Bulgarian Tsvetan Sokolov silenced the Skra fans as he led the Italian champions to a clean sweep of the local side 3-0 (25-23, 25-23, 25-23).

Cucine Lube Civitanova enjoy their moment of glory after beating Skra Belchatow to become the first Italian club in six years to qualify to a Club World Championship final.

The 2017 FIVB Men's Club World Championship wraps up on Sunday with the bronze medal match between Sada Cruzeiro and Skra at 17:30 local time (16:30 GMT), followed by the grand final at 20:30 (19:30 GMT).
