Krakow, Poland, December 16, 2017 - European and Russian champions Zenit Kazan will be in their third consecutive final of the competition after dealing defending champions and three-time gold medallists Sada Cruzeiro a heavy defeat in the semifinals of the 2017 FIVB Men's Club World Championship, while Italy will be making a comeback after six years, following the straight-set success of Cucine Lube Civitanova over local favourites PGE Skra Belchatow in Saturday's semifinals at Krakow's Tauron Arena.
It is the first time since 2011, when Italy's Trentino Diatec beat Poland's Jastrzebski Wegiel, that the final of a Club World Championship is an all-European affair.
It was a battle between Cuban-born of the two sides, as Wilfredo Leon led Zenit in their 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-18) win and Yoandy Leal top scored for Sada Cruzeiro.
