Skra Beltachow hope for repeat win over Personal Bolivar

 

Skra Belchatow of Poland will meet Personal Bolivar for the second time in the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship

Lodz, Poland, December 13, 2017 – Poland’s Skra Belchatow hope for a repeat of their FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship semifinal success in 2010 over Personal, when they meet in Pool B on Wednesday.


Head-to-head
• Skra Belchatow and Bolivar will meet for the second time at the men's club world championships.
• Skra Belchatow beat Bolivar in straight sets in the 2010 semifinals.
• This marks the only previous meeting in the competition between a Polish and Argentine team.

Skra Belchatow
• Skra Belchatow started the men’s club world championship with a 3-0 win over Shanghai Volleyball Club on Tuesday in front of a home crowd in Lodz.
• There have been four previous men’s club world championships with Polish participation. All four of those teams won at least their first three matches in their respective seasons. This time around, both Polish sides started off victorious as well.
• Skra Belchatow won their first four matches in 2009, the first four in 2010 (including one against Bolivar in the semifinal) and the first three in 2012.
• Srecko Lisinac scored one third of his team’s points against Shanghai – 25 of 75 (12 spikes, 6 blocks, 7 serve winners).
 
Personal Bolivar
• Bolivar got beaten in their opener on Tuesday as Zenit Kazan proved too strong, winning in straight sets.
• This is Bolivar’s third men’s club world championships. In 2010 and 2016, they won their first match before losing the second. They won two of the first three matches on both previous occasions.
• No Bolivar players managed to reach double figures in scoring in the match against Zenit. Theo Lopes and Rozalin Penchev came closest with nine and eight total points respectively.
