Skra Belchatow won all previous three meetings with Zenit Kazan in the FIVB Volleyball Men's Club World Championship
Lodz, Poland, December 14, 2017 – Poland’s Skra Belchatow are seeking to maintain a clean win-record against Russia’s Zenit Kazan in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship, following their victories in all previous three meetings.
Head-to-head
• Skra Belchatow and Zenit Kazan will meet for the fourth time at the men's club world championships.
• Skra Belchatow won all previous three meetings with the Russian side in the competition. They beat them in the 2009 semifinals (3-1), in the 2012 group stage (3-2) and in the bronze medal match in 2012 (3-2).
• Zenit Kazan also lost their only other club world championships meeting with a Polish team: 3-2 against Jastrzebski Wegiel in the 2011 group stage.
Skra Belchatow
• Skra Belchatow have won their first two matches at this men’s club world championship – 3-0 over Shanghai Volleyball Club on Tuesday and 3-1 over Bolivar on Wednesday.
• Skra Belchatow won their first four matches in 2009, the first four in 2010 (including one against Bolivar) and the first three in 2012. They could book a third win here.
• Srecko Lisinac and Bartosz Bednorz led the team in scoring against Bolivar with 17 points each.
Zenit Kazan
• Two matches, two wins for Zenit Kazan at the 2017 men’s club world championship. After beating Bolivar 3-0 on Tuesday, Shanghai Volleyball Club were crushed with the same score on Wednesday.
• Zenit have secured a semifinals spot for the sixth time in as many men’s club world championship appearances.
• Maxim Mikhaylov has been Zenit’s top scorer in both matches of the tournament so far. After totalling 18 points against Bolivar, he added 14 against Shanghai.
• Andrey Samoylenko has 12 total stuff blocks for the tournament, or 2.0 per set. This is a leading mark in the tournament after two matchrounds. Skra Belchatow’s Srecko Lisinac (1.29) is the only other player averaging more than one block per set.
