Seyed Mohammed Mousavi, Shahram Mahmoudi and Farhad Ghaemi led Sarmayeh Bank to win its second title in the Iranian Premier League
Tehran, Iran, March 12, 2017 – Sarmayeh Bank defended their title in the Iranian Premier League, following a 3-0 (33-31, 25-20, 25-18) win over Tehran Paykan to complete their sweep of the best-of-three final series.
Seyed Mohammad Mousavi, Shahram Mahmoudi, Farhad Ghaemi came up with powerful plays that dislodged their rivals’ defence, while Paykan setter Mir Saeid Marouflakrani could not get his team’s offence going without his main hitter Amir Ghafour, who suffered an injury.
Sarmayeh Bank had a superb performance throughout the season with 26 victories and two losses from Urmia Shahrdari and Varamin Salehin.
Sarmayeh Bank will participate in the FIVB Volleyball Men’s Club World Championship, which will take place in Poland from December 11 to 17.
Urmia Shahrdari claimed bronze with a five-set win over Saipa.
