Lausanne, Switzerland, May 7, 2017 - Cucine Lube Civitanova destroyed Diatec Trentino 3-1 (28-26, 25-20, 18-25, 25-14) Sunday afternoon to sweep the best-of-five final series of the men's Italian UnipolSai Superleague with back-to-back wins and claim their fourth title in the history of the competition.

Lube had previously won the first game in the final series in straight sets before making the break in five sets in Trento.

More than 4,000 fans packed the Eurosole Forum to the rafters to watch Bulgaria's Tsvetan Sokolov score 23 points lead Lube to the title, aided by another 20 points from Osmany Juantorena. Filippo Lanza with 20 was best scorer of Trentino.

Lube dominated on the net and totally outblocked Trentino with 14 stuffs to 6 and 55% to 43% in attacking efficiency, to counter the visitors' superior receiving.

The win earns Lube a ticket to the 2017 FIVB Club World Championship next December in Poland, as the title holder of one of the top two non-qualified countries in the FIVB World Rankings.

It was the second title of the season for Lube, who completed the 'double' on Sunday, after having beat Trentino also in four sets in the Cup final last January.
