Sada Cruzeiro rallied from a set down to overcome Taubate in their showdown. After the tight first set encounter, Sada Cruzeiro capitalised on their excellent service game and blocking to take the next set. They remained in command as they served well in the third. Taubate fought hard in the fourth set, but the defending champions shielded their lead to secure the title.

"We are always tense to play because there is always a lot of pressure on our team, but we do hard and serious work every day that gives us some confidence,” said two-time Super Cup winner Evandro Guerra. “Once again, it worked and we managed to win the title over an excellent team like Taubate.”

The Super Cup was founded in 2015 to mark the battle between the Super League champion and the winner of the Copa Brasil. Since then, the cup has been in the hands of only one team – Sada Cruzeiro. The Minas Gerais-based club first won the Super Cup in Itapetininga, Sao Paulo in 2015, then made back-to-back wins in Ceara last year.
